Bursitis Treatment for Joint Pain Relief

Bursitis is a common condition causing joint inflammation and pain. For severe cases, Commonwealth Pain & Spine's team of interventional pain specialists and dual-board certified physicians offers targeted treatments like bursa injections. These injections contain steroid medication, such as triamcinolone, which provides powerful anti-inflammatory relief by reducing inflammation, swelling, and pain by affecting joint chemicals, dampening nerve pain signals, and healing tissue.

  • Consultation: We'll discuss your medical history, symptoms, and previous treatments to determine if bursa injections are right for you.
  • Injection: The short, in-office procedure takes less than 10 minutes. Using ultrasound or fluoroscopy guidance, your physician will inject medicine into the inflamed bursa.
  • Relief and Results: If your bursa injection contains an anesthetic, you should enjoy pain relief for several hours. It then takes a few days for the steroid to begin working.
