Shawn Milburn, MD

Shawn Milburn, MD, is a highly trained anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician at Commonwealth Pain and Spine in Lexington and London, Kentucky. He is proud to serve his community and help patients of all ages live pain-free lives.

Dr. Milburn graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington and completed his residency in categorical anesthesiology at the same institution. 

Dr. Milburn finished his medical training with a fellowship in interventional pain at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He holds certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support, advanced trauma life support, and pediatric advanced life support.

He stays current with the latest advances in anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Milburn has presented posters and talks at numerous medical conferences, and published research in prestigious medical journals. He has several years of experience teaching college-level courses and his research and professional development are ongoing. 

Dr. Milburn is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Kentucky Medical Association, Kentucky Society of Anesthesiologists, and American Medical Association.
